Documenting Mass Atrocity: Survivor’s testimony
Karen Jungblut, Director of Global Initiatives, oversees and manages a global portfolio of partnerships for the USC Shoah Foundation. By developing local partnerships, she has worked in the field to document the experiences of survivors and witnesses of past genocides in Rwanda, Cambodia, Guatemala, and including the mass atrocities committed in 1937 in Nanjing. In the past five years, Jungblut has focused on the documentation of more current events of mass violence. With the USC Shoah Foundation since 1996, Karen has led an international and multilingual staff to successfully index the existing archive, as well as headed the production and piloting of USC Shoah oundation’s program New Dimensions in Testimony, a collection of interactive video biographies that enable people to have conversations with pre-recorded video images of Holocaust survivors and other witnesses to genocide.
